The Veg > The components. Lamp is in plastic shipping-protector at upper left, ballast is at lower right. Black box left of ballast is transformer. The black and blue wires with red terminals (near lamp)connect to the power-lead for the stock H7 lamp and are the only connection to the bike's electrical system. Also note large grommet near lamp- this will make for a more 'finished' installation, and will provide excellent protection from the elements as a new hole will need to be made in the headlight assembly for wires to pass inside.
The Veg > Nice Engrish on the transformer.
The Veg > Windscreen is removed, then the headlight assembly is loosened. Instrument panel will be removed from headlight assembly. I left the panel plugged in just in case, as it supposedly contains some of the bike's brains.
The Veg > Rear view of headlight assembly. Access cover for low beam is removed, as is H7 lamp. Hole at lower left is for parking lamp.
The Veg > What the bike looks like with half its' face missing.
The Veg > Cockpit view with components removed.
The Veg > HID lamp temporarily installed for testing.
The Veg > Shipping protector from HID lamp re-used as protective container for H7 lamp, which will be carried as a back-up. All I'd need to do is remove the HID lamp, install the H7 lamp, and connect the bike's power-lead to the H7. About five minutes, including all the tight-space fidgeting and such.
The Veg > Ballast connected, ready for testing.
